This is currently a lot of reports that the Gulf of Mexico is contaminated by oil. That is not exactly true. Florida has approximately 800 miles of fine sand beaches, of which only about 80 miles in northern Florida (Pensacoal) of oil are concerned. All other areas of Florida are oil free and will probably remain so. The Keys and the East Coast (Miami, Fort Lauderdale) has seen a 30% term opportunity in the coming months, oil – but only if the oil gets into the Loop Current. Currently, there is still miles away as if it were to succeed, and BP in the next few days to stop the flow of oil, are also probably the East Coast and the Keys are not affected.

SW Florida (south of Tampa and north of Naples) has to be less than a 1% chance to hit by the oil and is probably the safest place in Florida. The wild birds are nursed back to health, are here in our SW coast again released into the wild, just as it almost certainly emanates from the fact that we are all very safe here.

Property prices are still relatively low, the exchange rate between U.S. dollar and the euro is still good. It is therefore a good time to secure a place in the paradise of Southwest Florida.
